They get stuck with the shift no one else wants their first year, one to three in the morning on Mondays, when most of the college students in Boston are sleeping off their weekend debauchery. It’s fun, though; worth the groggy mornings that inevitably follow. During songs they goof off, pelting each other with snacks and singing along (they harmonize without even thinking about it) and dancing around their tiny studio - sometimes solo, sometimes together. Stevie’s favorite game is to plop down in Zander’s lap and kiss him until they’re on-air again, at which point she slips effortlessly back into DJing while Zander is stuck stammering out a line or two. (Every time, Stevie laughs at him one on occasion, every time, and Zander starts to argue until she climbs back into his lap and he remembers why it’s worth looking like an idiot on-air.)

I WROTE THIS AND IT DIDN’T PUBLISH AND NOW I CAN’T TELL IF IT WAS BETTER BEFORE OR WHAT.
Anyway I know absolutely ZIP about college radio stations or DJing sooooo. Yeah. But I kind of want to turn this into a one-shot despite my total ignorance.

I am in love with Stevie’s kissing game. Because Zander’s supposed to be a good with the ladies so I love the idea that tomboyish, badass Stevie is the only one who can throw him off his game.
